Kit and Drew Coons

Kit and Drew Coons met through Cru while serving as Christian missionaries in Nigeria. They later served in New Zealand and the South Pacific Islands. The Coons family has been ministering to families through FamilyLife (a division of Cru) since 1989. They have spoken at hundreds of FamilyLife events across America and in thirty-nine other countries. They are active members of FamilyLife’s Global Resource Department.

Drew earned degrees with honors in engineering from Auburn University and the Georgia Institute of Technology. He worked on the Delta rocket program and designed critical components for the US space shuttle. Later, he was a researcher at BASF Corporation and received twenty-three US patents and several international patents.

Katie has a degree with honors in education from the University of Minnesota. She is a talented teacher and blogger with an unbreakable spirit, regardless of the circumstances.

The Koons family is also the authors of numerous published articles and seven novels that glorify God. The theme of their writing and website is “Life Beyond the Ordinary.” In 2020, they moved to Port Orchard, Washington, and are ready to serve churches and other communities free of charge.
