Oleksandr Chmut is the head of TransWorld Radio in Ukraine. He was born and raised in a deeply religious family in the village of Medzhybizh, Khmelnytskyi region.
From childhood, he constantly listened to Christian radio programs from Monte Carlo and Ecuador. He made a personal decision to accept Jesus Christ as his Savior after hearing a sermon by Jarl Peisti on the radio. He was baptized in 1985.
He earned a bachelor’s degree in pastoral ministry from the Irpin Bible Seminary, a master’s degree in biblical counseling from the Kyiv Theological Seminary, and a doctorate in ministry from the Kyiv and Odessa Theological Seminaries.
He served as a pastor in the Evangelical Christian Church in the village of Medzhybizh (1995-2002) and taught Bible doctrine and homiletics at the Dunayevets Bible College.
He has many years of experience working in radio, which came into his life in the early 1990s. At that time, he began to participate in the preparation of the Christian program “Voice of Eternal Love.” He has been working directly at TSR since 2000. He has been a manager since 2002. He is the author of the programs “Man and Eternity,” “Voice of Eternal Love,” and the projects “Frankly About Painful Issues” and “Your Chance for Rebirth,” which have been popular with listeners for many years. In addition to his work on the radio, he conducts various seminars and conferences, premarital and crisis family counseling, and preaches.
He has been married to Natalia Chmut since 1990. Together they have raised four children.
