Svitlana Shandruk was born on September 26, 1954, in Buchach, Ternopil Region (Ukraine). After graduating from high school, she studied at the Ternopil Medical Institute. After receiving her diploma, she worked at the same institute as a lecturer in the Department of Phthisiology, and later (until her retirement) as a doctor at the regional tuberculosis dispensary. In her youth, she wrote lyrical poems, and after her conversion to God, she began to write spiritual poetry. Her works were published in Christian bulletins, almanacs, and the collective collection “Thanksgiving to God.” She is a member of the Union of Christian Poets and Writers of Ukraine. She lives in the city of Ternopil. She raised two daughters and has five grandchildren. With gratitude for her difficult life journey, she performs women’s ministry in the Church of Christ in Ternopil.
